Immutable Offsite Backup

Enforcing the deterministic 3-2-1 backup principle with write-once-read-many (WORM) append-only storage and cryptographically air-gapped recovery repositories.

Why Standard Backups Fail Against Ransomware

Modern ransomware does not simply encrypt client PCs; it spends days enumerating your network shares, discovering backup target servers, and wiping volume shadow copies before triggering the payload. If your backup destination can be modified or deleted by network credentials, your backup is vulnerable.

GridLogic deploys immutable Linux repositories with Object Lock (WORM). Once written, snapshot blocks cannot be edited, overwritten, or deleted by any user or administrator until the retention window expires. Even in the event of a domain takeover, your recovery data remains untouched.

The 3-2-1 Implementation Standard

  • 3 Copies of Data: Primary production copy plus two independent duplicate repositories.
  • 2 Different Media Formats: On-site NVMe/SSD local staging for instant rollback, and enterprise ZFS/cloud object storage.
  • 1 Offsite & Immutable: Geographically separate, air-gapped target in sovereign UK/EU data centers with hardware encryption.
  • Scheduled Bare-Metal Restoration Drills: Regular automated integrity testing to ensure backups restore smoothly when needed.
